Babyboomers May Outlive Their Children

Just a very short note here to my blog. I have no real answer to this...just my opinion.

Have you seen some old pics of the "kids" at "Woodstock?" How many fatties do you see there? Some but not many.

Has anyone else noticed that the kids are getting fatter?I mean really Fatter. The older generation of babyboomers have reached retirement age with the youngest 16 years behind but most of their weight started as adults, not as children or teens. The longer a person carries too much fat, the longer the adverse effects are to their health. If this trend of fat children and teens continues, they will have carried the problem years longer than the generation before them and may actually die before their
parents...not a pleasant thought.

I'm not an nutritionists but just common sense tells me that if you
take more calories in than you burn, you will gain weight. Not rocket science.

Add some fiber blocks the bad fat from entering the bloodstream to your kids diet and get them moving. The only way to burn calories is to move and that does not mean moving your fingers across the computer keys or fighting imaginary battles with the Xbox or the latest Nintendo video game. These games can be mentally stimulating with positive effects on the mind but the body that houses the mind, needs to be feed the best fuel and to be exercised on a regular basis.

Buy your kids a bike. If you can't get them away from the video games, at least purchase one of the "fit" games where the child is physically participating in the game action.
